Role Purpose
To work on Installation and maintenance of Avaya IPT and telephony systems along with installation and Maintenance of Avaya applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Installation projects in the field. This will involve pre-installation customer meetings with the project manager. Full ownership of the installation in the field to completion of the project.
  • This role will involve a close relationship with the project management team and fellow engineers.
  • Responsible for installation profit and loss in conjunction with Project manager.
  • Responsible for customer sign off documentation.
  • To carry out maintenance duties when required and work with the Charterhouse service desk team.
  • Drive customer satisfaction, reviewing areas of improvements and working with team to ensure processes and procedures are effective and up to date.
  • Ensure personal accreditations are up to date and appropriate for work being performed

Required Competencies (Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Attitude)

  • Fully experienced in Avaya Communication Manager (ACM) telephony solution installations
  • Experience of working with Avaya Communication Manager, Session manager, System manager, Communication Manager Messaging (CMM,) Aura conferencing and LSP configuration.
  • Experience of G450, G430 and G650 Gateways
  • Need to have knowledge of One-x attendant servers and Web conferencing servers
  • Exposure to S8300 servers
  • ACSS/AIPS qualified
  • Avaya SBC experience and knowledge of working with SIP
  • Must have a good knowledge of networking
  • Able to work as a member of a team
  • Experience of working to and meeting tight deadlines
  • Willingness to learn alternative manufacturer equipment and applications
  • Flexibility to meet last minute requirements.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required both out of hours and weekends
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Full and clean driving license
  • Excellent time-keeping

Candidate Skill Set:

  • 3-5 years’ Technical Infrastructure (IT/Telco) project delivery experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience of IT/Data/Voice deployments
  • Project Management PMP accreditation desirable

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Day 2 day duties:

  • Ensure project plans are created, approved internally and agreed with client to ensure fastest delivery within pre-identified scope parameters (time/cost/quality).
  • Incorporate high level minimum milestones re programme methodology
  • Establish, document and gain approval for the required Project Structure (externally and internally) encompass resource required to enable project delivery
  • Look for ways to add value for customers and client, accelerate delivery, improve on all elements of scope without adversely impacting cost/timeline/quality
  • Ensure changes delivered on site to customers are planned in advance, documented, technically verified, approved and communicated in complete adherence to customers’ change mechanisms
  • Manage 3rd party suppliers involved in project delivery and delivery of operational services to ensure clients standards are maintained
  • Identify/document/escalate/track risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions through the Risk & Issue Register mechanism, with requisite WS/customer stakeholder to ensure appropriate management
  • Raise purchase orders, booking internal client resource
  • Update budget info including budget to actuals
  • Ensure all project customer or internal meetings are well prepared, documented and tracked, record key decisions and circulate as per agreed communication mechanisms
  • Ensure document controls are in place and kept updated
  • Work with customer and designer/architect to identify and document requirements to be translated into effective customer solutions
  • Identify problems, manage issues and identify where waste can be removed from process steps, ensure process consistency across end-to-end business hierarchies
  • Identify where process and/or procedural changes can provide end-to-end solutions
  • Perform required close-down activities including (openly) identifying lessons learnt

Title – Senior AVAYA Support Engineer

Location – Lower Manhattan, New York City

Salary – $120,000

Client – Our client is a UK based Unified Communications specialist and AVAYA platinum partner.

The Role – Our client is looking for a Senior AVAYA Support Engineer to work on-site with one of their US-based clients, a global leader in Information Technology. The Senior AVAYA Support Engineer will be primarily responsible for supporting the client’s contact centre function.

Contact Centre Support Technician (New York Based) Responsibilities:

  • Execute voice and contact center infrastructure implementation / deployment projects.
  • Participate in technical discussions with other internal teams and external vendors.
  • Gather requirements from business teams who want to expand current call centres or build out new call centres.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving escalations and outages.
  • Vet and implement configuration changes.
  • Maintain lab systems.
  • Programming of call flows, VDNs (Virtual Directory Number), Vectors, CMS (Call Management Server) reports etc.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience in design, implementation, deployment, and/or technical support of voice infrastructure and networks
  • Hands-on experience with one or more Avaya systems such as 96xx phones (H.323 and SIP), Communication Manager, Gateways, Session Manager, System Manager, Experience Portal / Voice Portal, WebLM, Enterprise SBC (Sipera)
  • Proficiency in VoIP protocols such as SIP/RTP and using packet sniffers
  • Basic Linux skills
  • Good written and oral communications in English
  • Resourceful, can identify solutions to obstacles and keep projects moving forward
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing need, infrastructure, and evolving business processes.
  • Ability to work closely with the user community, interprets issues, understand requirements, and rapidly deploy solutions.
