SOC Security Device Support Engineer

Role Type – Contract

Location – Bristol

Rate – Circa £400 per day (higher or lower depending upon experience and skill-set)

Duration – 3 months initially  

Client – Global information technology services company delivering a range of outsourced security services for enterprise clients  

Role overview and required experience – Our client requires a candidate with a broad security knowledge base and experience in the support of support of small to medium sized security device environments. The position requires at least +2 years’ experience within a security device support role and the candidate will need to ensure that the client infrastructure is fully operational. The main devices to be supported are Network and Host-based Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS & HIDS) from the Intel (formally McAfee) family of products

It is essential that the suitable candidate has a broad foundation of ICT security knowledge in the following areas:

  • NIDS & HIDS – Intel family of products
  • Applications & Services (Anti-Virus, File & Print, DNS, etc.)
  • Windows & Linux desktop and server environments
  • Networking (LAN Topologies, Switching & Routing and Firewalls)
  • Backup Systems

Security Operations Centre (‘SOC’) Analyst 

Role Type – Contract

Location – Bracknell

Rate – Circa £400 per day (higher or lower depending upon experience and skill-set)*

Duration – 5 days per week, on-site from Monday to Friday; 3 months initially with the possibility to extend

Client – A leading IT service provider contracted to deliver security outsource services to the UK government defence industry

Role overview and required experience – Our client requires a senior SOC Analyst to provide incident management and vulnerability assessment support within a busy and growing SOC environment. With the ability to mentor more junior members of the operation as well as reporting in to two principle managers, the candidate needs to have had experience of working in a security operation as well as using event management tools to deliver service and assurance. Those that are Security Cleared and have experience of the LogRhythm SIEM platform will have a distinct advantage. Importantly, candidates need to be good verbal communicators!
